Sourced for traceability
India Data Centre Watch is an independent, non-commercial public-interest research project and tracker for following India's data centre buildout covering policies, investment claims, resource use, local concerns, legal records, and global governance comparisons. It compiles and summarises information already in the public domain, such as official records, court filings, company statements, and credible published reporting, with source links for every claim. It does not allege criminal or unlawful conduct by any party, and does not represent findings of fact by this site; readers are directed to the underlying sources for that determination.
Developing tracker: India Data Centre Watch is a developing public research tracker. The site currently publishes source-linked records and will continue to add reviewed material as research progresses. Existing entries may be updated when new public information becomes available.

Methodology
Primary sources first
Entries prioritise government notifications, official policy pages, parliamentary or budget records, environmental-clearance filings, court records, regulator material, company announcements, and institutional research. Credible journalism, civil-society statements, and market research are used to identify developments, cross-check context, and flag implementation gaps.
Where official records are incomplete, the site makes the evidence gap visible rather than smoothing it over. Market estimates from different firms may vary by method, date, and project definition; they should be read as report-specific figures unless independently confirmed.
Material being gathered for new trackers, including Parliament Watch and the project atlas, remains internal until it has been reviewed for source links, relevance, date, geography, and neutral public-facing language.

Reading the public record carefully
The site distinguishes official announcements, company statements, court or regulatory records, press reporting, civil-society representations, and contextual research. Public entries show the source date, source type where useful, affected place, company or agency, and the current public record as on the date reviewed.
The tracker uses India/British spelling in its own voice: data centre, data centres, mobilisation, labour, organisation, and programme. Proper names and source titles keep their original spelling.
